Congratulations! You are about to discover that you have received a surprisingly helpful, easy to use software application. The Home Buyer's Assistant will interactively acquaint you with the process, terminology and financial concepts associated with the purchase of a home. Every attempt has been made to provide accurate, practical information that will help simplify the important decisions you will be making regarding the purchase of your home.

If you are new to the Windows environment, take a minute to read the QUICK START instructions.


REQUIREMENTS

Windows 3.1 or later.
2 MB RAM (4 Recommended)
2.1 MBytes of available disk space.

INSTALLATION

1. Download the self extracting file named hba.exe.
2. Copy hba.exe to a temporary directory.
3. Run (Double-Click) hba.exe to expand setup files.
4. Run setup.exe
5. Follow instructions provided by the install wizard.

QUICK START

The following operating instructions are intended to get you started.

Install the software as instructed in INSTALLATION (above).

DoubleClick (open) the HOME window if it's not already active.

DoubleClick (open) the HOME BUYER'S ASSISTANT icon (the little house.) After several seconds the title page will appear.

Click the BEGIN button at the bottom of the page or simply press the SPACE bar on your keyboard. The screen will now display a graphical representation of a VILLAGE.

The mouse will be positioned over the BI-PLANE icon, and a caption will say "Overview of the Steps to Buying a Home". As you move the mouse over the different structures in the VILLAGE you will see the caption change. Move the mouse cursor to the DIRECTIONS SIGNPOST (located near the house under construction).

Click on the DIRECTIONS SIGNPOST. The DIRECTIONS page will appear.

Read the information and follow the instructions presented on the DIRECTIONS page.

When ready to proceed, click on the BI-PLANE icon and you will return to the VILLAGE.

Click the BI-PLANE again to begin a structured overview of the home buying process, or simply explore your new interactive software.

There are animated sequences in your HOME BUYER'S ASSISTANT. Older, less powerful computers may have difficulty running animations at a reasonable speed. If the animation is running painfully slow, just press and hold the Esc key for a few seconds. Also, as a final note, the BI-PLANE will fly! Have fun.
